Publicly exhibited 2018 – 2022

This exhibition investigates perception as a spatial condition. It approaches painting not as image-making, but as a constructed system in which space, time, and observation intersect. Each work operates within a network of abstract noise, negative space, geometric tension, and calibrated imbalance—forming a coherent body that examines the relationship between subject and observer.

Across the series, structure, texture, reflection, and projection are deployed as spatial instruments. The paintings do not merely depict; they activate. Individually, they offer distinct viewpoints; collectively, they establish a shared atmospheric field—one system, multiple perspectives, continuously recalibrated by the presence of the viewer.

The paintings are structured through layered geometries and controlled disruptions, where form emerges from tension rather than symmetry. Compositional balance is intentionally unstable, allowing negative space to act as an active structural element. This instability directs the eye across the surface, reinforcing depth through fragmentation and spatial interruption.

Texture is built incrementally, with material density varying across the surface to register time and process. Matte and semi-reflective passages coexist, absorbing and releasing light unevenly. These textural shifts function as thresholds, suggesting erosion, accumulation, or suspended motion rather than fixed form.

Reflections and projections operate as spatial mechanisms rather than representational effects. Light appears to bend, scatter, or echo within the pictorial field, producing the sensation of multiple viewpoints collapsing into a single surface. These optical events extend the painting beyond its physical boundaries, positioning the viewer as an active participant within the spatial system.

As a whole, the exhibition functions as a unified spatial system rather than a sequence of isolated works, where each painting operates as a calibrated fragment of a larger perceptual field. Together, the group constructs a shared atmospheric logic—one that frames the viewer within a shifting network of viewpoints, distances, and temporal traces.
